It's been months since I've posted anything on blogger. Mainly because I haven't had anything to post.
I got inspired today so I did a page in a new altered book. It's a book of tables of Natural Trigonometric Functions.
And I made some Tip in artjournal pages and chunky page for a swap.

Daleks In Love?
I love cross stitch for four reasons:
1. I love the way it looks.
2. It's relatively simple to do.
3. I can easily make my own patterns.
4. It's a great craft to do while sitting on the couch.
I'm definitely not an expert or very talented at cross stitch, but I had so much fun designing and stitching these two daleks in love. I originally was only going to stitch one dalek but i didn't have any normal dalek floss colors. So I stitched a cute dalek in pink and purple. After I finished it I felt like it was lonely and stitch a blue and green dalek to keep it company. I framed it an adorably tiny hoop! I love tiny things!

Awesome Purse
I made this purse for KittyKill in the Be Awesome Again swap. I need to make myself one now! I got the fabric at Hobby Lobby, it's all coordinating, and I even have matching ribbon! I used organic cotton (mmm my favorite) for the bottom, lining and handles! It has cotton batting inside.

Teesha Moore Inspired Envelope
I love this Simplified Teesha Moore Style Bag by Craftster user craftylittlemonkey. She made a tutorial check it out.
I've actually tried to do this project in the actual Teesha way but I really didn't like it, but I still love the way it looks. So when i found the simplified version I wanted to give it a try. Since it was my first try I made it even more simplified. I didn't do any fancy stiching and I didn't add any embelishments. It's the perfect size to fit a regular greeting card.

Thrifty Tuesday
(It is Tuesday right?) I always find awesome items at the thrift store, I usually get vintage/funky decorations or crafting items. I have so much fun looking at all the junk! I usually go the the thrift store about once a week, I though I would share my awesome finding with you every week!! I think I'll make an awesome Thrifty Tuesday banner!
A Plexiglas Number Two - It's pretty neat. I'm not sure what kind of sign it's for, but it's going to look great in my studio! It might be cool to mount a light behind it!

Glass Head - I was suuuper lucky to get this. The thrift store I go to usually keep all the really cool stuff as display. :[ They have a bunch of these glass heads, even black glass heads (I sooo want one), and they are all not for sale!

Insane Awesome Rhinestone Hat - Not sure what this hat is for, but it is sooo awesome! It's very sparkly!

Porceline Hand - So neat! I collect hands (and heads). A while ago one of my Craftster Crushes, rackycoo made a Spring Shrine with a similar hand and I've been looking for one since. I might be able to break the flowers off too!

Kitty Tin - The cutest thing I've ever seen! Right now I use it to hold all my Alcohol Ink misters!

That's it for now! I know I'll have ever more fun things to share next Tuesday!!

My First Mug Rugs
Mug Rugs have become very popular in the crafting community. Though I have no need for a mug rug I really wanted to make one. I've had this yellow and grey fabric forever, and a while ago I did some fabric piecing with it but never made anything with it. I found it again and decided i could finally use it to make my first mug rugs. I had the perfect size to make two mug rugs. They are definitely not perfect but I'm pretty proud of my attempt!

I LOVE Bracelets
I love bracelets! Thin ones, thick ones, clusters, charms, interchangeable beads. I've just realized this addiction, but I don't think I'm going to look for any help! After getting two beautiful bracelets in a swap, and 'ordering' two more, I decided to make a few today out of some jewelry kits i have. The kits come with everything you need to make a certain project, but I usually don't like the project so much, though the beads and charms are pretty. So I decided to make my own bracelets out of them!
(Fake?) Crystal Cluster Bracelet
I'm pretty certain I am never going to work with so many head pins again! My finger ache! I did turn out pretty nice though!

Colorful Birds
The super cute bird charms are made by my crafty friend Kira.

Plain Jane
Just some pretty light purple and mustard colored beads!

Starting Fresh

My new and permanent blog. My old blog craftingwithmyeyesclosed.blogspot.com had a lot of missing pictures, and instead of fixing all of them I'm going to start new. Plus I was sick of the whole "crafting with my eyes closed" thing. Blah!
I might eventually re post some of my old projects, and maybe fix those missing pictures, but not right now.
I do have a lot of new projects to share!
enjoy - Audrey
